Concept
The proposed design repurposes Ard Scoil Éanna (former school) into a centre for hearing wellness, transforming a space once associated with learning into one focused on inclusion, healing, and connection. This decision is informed by the understanding that traditional educational environments can often feel isolating for individuals with hearing loss.

Personal Motivation
Having lived with hearing loss for 12 years, I experienced the educational disruption, frequent travel for treatment, and lack of dedicated emotional support. These challenges highlighted the need for a more integrated and accessible approach to care.

Design Intent
The centre brings together medical, educational, and counselling services within a single location, reducing the burden of travel and improving accessibility. It is designed for all age groups, offering a holistic environment that supports physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. The project ultimately aims to create a safe, inclusive space where individuals with hearing loss feel supported, understood, and connected throughout their journey.
